Up to their elbows in history - and dirt - budding archaeologists unearthed treasures from Warrnambool's past yesterday with the excavation of a former 19th-century rubbish tip. Pupils from Warrnambool West Primary School and Port Fairy Consolidated School joined archaeologists from Heritage Victoria for the dig at the site, which dates back to the state's early colonial days.
