Closos Ca’n Gaia a bronze age settlement in Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain).
The site is a settlementwith a chronology from 1600BC to 800BC, Bronze Age. At the moment we areexcavating the outsides of a naveta,the typical house of that moment.

Program.
Work at the site is from 7:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. and from 16:00 to 19:00, Tuesday through Sunday. Although part of the team will work in laboratory.
Mondays are off, participants may relax or travel on their own or enjoy the Mallorca’s beautiful beaches.
Also, another day we will do an excursion to visit other archaeological sites of the island.
Daily Schedule.
Beginning August the 2nd and until 22nd august 2010, work will proceed according to the following schedule, Monday through Saturday: (This schedule is only indicative)
6:15 Wake-up
7:00 Work begins
10:00 Breakfast
10:30 Back to work
13:00 End of work
13:45 Lunch
14:00 Rest and optional swimming
16:00 - 19:00 Afternoon work
19:30 Supper
Recommended equipment.
Sun Hat or Head Covering: you will not be permitted in the field without it!
Sun screen lotion and sunglasses are also recommended.
Blankets or sleep bag are necessary.
Medical health insurance.
Costs.
Accomodation and maintenance are FREE.
You only have to pay the travel to Mallorca and you have to have a health insurance.
Volunteers will be lodged at Porto Colom’s school, about 2 kilometres from the site. We sleep on gym mattress in different classrooms.
We will lunch and supper in hotel Cala Marçal.
Academic certificate.
All the participants will receive a certificate that specifies their participation in the excavation issues by the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB).
